In collaboration with the International Committee of the
Red Cross and more than 180 national societies, the American Red Cross works to locate loved ones who are missing due to war, natural disaster or civil unrest and sends messages between separated family members. A resource of hope, the Red Cross has worked to trace and, if possible, reunite family members separated by every major war. For many survivors, the search brings the solace of learning -- after years of uncertainty -- what happened to loved ones. For some, it brings the miracle of a reunion.
