Individualized Learning
American Red Cross Web-based learning is flexible and self-paced, and is as effective as classroom-only training. Blended Learning allows you to stop and review information whenever necessary. Participants have the option of following the full class or abbreviated form and can test out of lessons as well. Web-based training also allows employees access training at their convenience and prevents conflict with work-related responsibilties.
Convenient, Flexible Training
The first portion of the training is completed online, allowing each course participant to take the training from any PC (Windows-based) computer with Internet access. Minimum operating system requirements: Windows 2000, Windows XP or Mac OS X (10.2); Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2 or higher or Netscape 6.2 or higher (AOL browser not supported); Flash 5.0 or higher content player; Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 or higher.
For the second part of the training, a Red Cross instructor will conduct a skills session where participants' skills are practiced and assessed. In order to be eligible to participate in the skills segment of the class students must successfully complete all sections of the web-based segment including the final exam prior to participating in the skills segment of the class.
STUDENTS MUST BRING A COPY OF THEIR COMPLETION CERTFICATE FROM THE WEB-BASED SEGMENT TO THE SKILLS SESSION. ATTENDANCE AT THE SKILLS SESSION IS MANDATORY.
Skills sessions take place at Fairfield American Red Cross facility, 209 Fairfield Rd, Fairfield, NJ 07004.
Certification Rrequirements are as follows:
- Complete online session
- Correctly answer at leat 80 percent of the questions on the final exam. Note: Participants must successfully complete the online session before begining the Skills Practice and Assessment Session.
- Attend and participate in the skills practice and assessment session for the course
- Demonstrate competency in all required skills
